Childhood Myopia - What Parents Need to Know
High myopia in children (more than 500 degrees) is a concern due to the potential devastating consequences such as retinal detachment, squint and glaucoma when they grow older and become adults.

These individuals thus face a higher risk of blindness. Visual handicap can make even normal daily routines a challenge. Therefore, early childhood monitoring and timely control is important in preventing irreversible myopia progression.

As part of Myopia Awareness Week 2022, SNEC will be organising a webinar on Childhood Myopia for parents. Do join us to learn more about the causes of this condition, the treatment options available and when you should bring your child to see an eye doctor for further evaluation.
